Guest Post: Steve and Jess

As our "Awkward Girls' Holiday Guest Post Extravaganza" comes to a close, we have one more fabulous guest poster for you. Jess, from Steve and Jess, is literally one of the cutest people we've ever seen. And we can say that because we've actually met her in real life. We ran in to her at DI one time. Can we just point out that she was even dressed super cute at DI. Who does that? Jess does. And you're about to see even more.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi friends!

Madison and Lauren asked me to post about New Year's

and seeing as they are probably the most fashionable girls traipsing around BYU campus,

I decided to post some New Year's outfit inspiration!

In my opinion, any New Year's outfit must include some kind of sparkle or sheen.

Which is why I'm wearing velvet, sequins, and beads. all at once.

awesome.

Happy Holidays!

details:

sequin sweater: Macy's
velvet dress: Zara
necklace: Nordstrom
belt: Anthropologie

red pumps: Dejavu Boutique in New York

Guest Post: Gentri Lee

We have a treat for you today! Gentri is just one of those bloggers where you fall in love at first sight. She is always so creative and shares her wonderful ideas on her blog, Gentri Lee. Check out her partayyy post below!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hello readers of Awkward Girls! My name is Gentri and I blog over at Gentri Lee. I'm super excited to be here today. New years is such a fun holiday and writing this post certainly makes me feel like throwing the cutest New Years Eve party anyone ever did see. It's actually kind of funny, because I've had this party inspiration board saved on BHLDN for a while now. I'm excited to share it with someone!

Here is what I need to make my perfect New Years Eve Party:

First- I chose a color theme of gold/ yellow. If there ever was a holiday that needed to be celebrated with sparkles and metalics- it's New Years Eve.

Second- As you can see I've got my outfit all picked out, complete with a golden yellow dress to match my party.

Third- I would need a photo area. I think those paper flowers or a ribbon wall would make the perfect backdrop. Then I included the clothes pins so we could print out the pics and hang them for all to see and take with them.

Fourth- You've gotta make the food look good. A bright and cheery table cloth and golden striped straws would cheer up any table. Complete with dishes made of crystal or ornate glass so they catch the light and make the whole room sparkle.

Now, don't you all want to come to my party?! It's going to be a BLAST! Haha!

Thank you for reading, everyone! I'd love to have you stop by my little bloggy sometime and say- Hello! And thank you Lauren and Madison for letting me guest post! This was so fun and put me in the Holiday spirit!

Merry Christmas...

Photobucket

Love,
Gentri

We love the dress, shoes, earrings, decorations...basically all of it. Classy party for a classy gal! See more of Gentri's wonderful blog here

Guest Post: Just Us

Hello lovelies! Today we have Lindsay from Just Us. We adore her. She has awesome style, totally gorgeous, a too-cute-to-be-true family, and knows how to throw an awesome Gatsby themed New Year's Eve party!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

a little something i whipped up for you

I'm not 100% positive as to what we're doing for New Years but I've been entertaining the idea of throwing a party. I do this around every holiday. :) In throwing a New Years bash to cheer on the new year, I would throw a Great Gatsby themed party. You do know that there is a Gatsby movie remake coming out in 2012? This party is involving lots of glitter, gold, clocks & numbers in the decor, pearls, sparkling drinks (that saying in the middle originally said "champagne"), and we would dance the night away and welcome the new year in wearing our top hats and flapper-esque dresses! Isn't it perfectly wonderful?

I do hope you'll come. :)

No matter what we end up doing, there better be some glitter, lights, and lots of this guy. To read more from me (and maybe I'll end up throwing this party), you can visit us on my blog, just us.

Love,
Lindsay

Gold, sequins, top hats! Does it get any better than that? I think it's safe to say that we love themed parties!
Be sure to check out more of Lindsay's awesome blog here!

Guest Post: Pinker on My Side

Today we have the stylin' Meg from Pinker on My Side. Lemme tell you, she definitely knows how to pull unique and fabulous outfits together! Take a looksy below to see what we mean.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yay!!!  I love guest posting and I love Awkward Girls.  So I'm tha-rilled to be doing this.

If you're in my family and having a party....you are dressed fan-cy.  I'd like to say that it's because we are filthy rich (don't we all want that?) and snobby (no one wants that)...but were not.  We just like to dress up all great and crap.

I mean...why not, right?

I just got done with a family party a couple of days ago (go to my blog and you'll see the F.U.N. pics).

So here are some suggestions of what to wear to your festive parties.  Deck the halls with your great clothing.  (Sing it!  It actually kinda works.)

Dress: Vintage, Cardi: Nordstrom, Shoes: Dillards, Belt: J.Crew

Blazer: Thrifted, Blouse: J.Crew, Blue-striped tank: Anthropologie

Um I say yay to plaid--it's quite festive I think.

Dress: Anthropologie, Blouse: J.Crew, tights: Target, Shoes: Anthropologie, Necklace: J.Crew

Go outside the Christmas box and wear YELLOW!

Skirt: Thrifted, Blouse: J.Crew, Necklace: Cherry Lane Boutique, Tights: Target, Shoes: Michael Kors, Belt: J.Crew

So......I know they are all skirts.  I love me a good skirt.  So if you hate yourself a skirt--I've had my eyes on these little puppies for a while now.  Eat your heart out!

Thanks dolls!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We are really digging the pants (obvi) and making plaid festive! She has such classy taste, dontchya think? Mosey on over to her blog and see for yourself!

xoxo
