See those cute headbands we're wearing? This past week one of our sweet sponsors, Jennie Moss, sent us some of her "Haute and Handpieced" headbands. We are seriously loving them! This girl is so talented. Thanks so much Jennie! You da best!
Sorry we've been horrible bloggers lately. You're probably thinking it was just because we were so busy putting together super awesome and original costumes, right? Well we wish we could say that was true. What did we end up dressing up as?
Yep. 90's girls. Again. Sorry to disappoint you, world.
BUT, this time we did add the element of hats and we kind of worked on our poses a little bit more.
So we think it was a success. We Party Rock Anthemed all over Provo and hung out with some cool people too! This much fun and it's not even actually Halloween yet!
ALSO, see our hot roommate, Natalie here?
She asked a simple request from Lauren tonight to trim her bangs a little bit. This was the result:
Give Lauren some scissors and access to your hair, and she WILL give you blunt bangs.
Our school comes with a really cool art museum. That museum comes with a really cool cafe.
We literally go there for lunch at the same time on the same day, every week. They kind of know us there. We think we're at the point now where we can just order "the usual".
(We've always wanted to do that.)
The Usual, in case you ever want to try it: Ham Lorraine Quiche and the carrot cake.
So good.
We Want: Prep School Inspired
So the other day, we went to lunch at the MOA and there was a prep school eating lunch there on a field trip. It was so cute we died. The girls had little bow neckties on their collars, plaid skirts and high socks. The boyswere wearing navy blazers over cardigans and slacks.
It made us wish we went to a school with uniforms!
Our opportunities have passed, but that doesn't mean we can't dress like it, right?
Tunes: Stars, "Your Ex-Lover is Dead"
This one's kind of an oldie. But still so goodie.
Funnies: Toddlers and Tiaras and Tom Hanks
Tom Hanks in his best role yet. Himself.
Well we wore the same shirt again today. (Remember that shirt?)
This has happened on many-a occasion.
We guess true friendship means walking out of our rooms in the morning wearing the same outfit, right?
We always have those encounters with each other where we make jokes about wearing the same thing and then there's that long awkward pause while we wait for the other to say they'll change.
You know how that is.
Fortunately, we can layer with sweaters now so it totally makes it ok.
This week we're being featured over at the lovely Gentri Lee's blog as her Blog of the Week!
What? Us? Yes, us!
She gave us one of these nifty little awards too:
Isn't that cute? We don't know how she does it. But make sure you go check out her blog and in case you just can't get enough of us here, then you can see some sweet guest post action over there too.
Not that we haven't said it enough, but thanks AGAIN to Gentri! She is so cool. And makes us feel so special.
After a really awesome summer, we almost forgot how pretty fall can be in Provo. We mean, look at those leaves! We think they've subconsciously been inspiring our outfits too.
Also, since you guys are so creative, we are calling upon you for a special mission!
WE NEED HALLOWEEN COSTUME IDEAS!
Usually, we're pretty on top of thing when it comes to putting together costumes.
Narwhal and Unicorn?
90's Grunge?
We don't know what's wrong with us this year. It's like we've lost our touch.
So you guys need to give us ideas. We're running out of time, people!
Also, we want to give a huge shoutout to Rachel from 365 Days Till who's adorable and said nice things about us on her blog. She's one of our sponsors and we were lucky enough to meet her in real life. Check out her cute blog.
Sometimes cool things happen in Provo. Many of which involve music.
Since moving to Utah, we've learned that Provo actually has quite the hoppin' music scene thanks to sweet venues such as Velour Live Music Gallery.
Tonight, we got to listen to the soulful melodies of some cool artists like the local band, Parlor Hawk, Matt Pond PA, and of course the headliner, Rocky Votolato, who so generously stopped in Provo on his tour.
Here's some tunes to help you visualize being there as you look at some pictures of the evening.
Excuse the demon eyes, the mysterious orb in the bottom left corner, and especially the captions. The picture just would have been a lot less cool without them.
A mysterious copy of Vogue showed up in our apartment and has just been sitting on the coffee table.
The other day, we looked through it and found all these cute pictures of Michelle Williams as Marilyn Monroe for her new movie. We fell in love.
Boy Crush: Logan Lerman
Maybe he's a little young. But since when does that stop us?
(Bieber, anyone?)
Flava of the Week: Peppers Pitas
We ventured outside of Provo for some good eats this week and found this little pita place called Peppers in Salt Lake. Instead of regular pitas, they use more of a flat bread that is so yummy in our tummies.
We recommend the Italian.
We Want: Sweater Guards
Say you want to keep your cardigan closed, but buttoning up those pesky buttons is a little too restricting.
That's where sweater guards come in.
(or just clip them to your collar like she did!)
Also, we're into "Grandma Chic".
Tunes: Lana Del Rey, "Video Games"
At first you might think this song is really weird. But just wait until you're singing it all day in your head and you won't be able to resist coming back for more.
This weekend we found the coolest rare bookstore in Salt Lake. The bookstore itself was in this really old brick building and was so visually interesting we had to take some pictures. All while getting enlightened by the great philosophers of centuries past and finding some really old editions of our favorite books. Find out more here.
