Jean Shirt Challenge

jean shirt: uo, dress: soel boutique, tights: betsey johnson, shoes: seychelles

jean shirt: f21, skirt: gift via primark (london), shoes: axxiom via shoe carnival, necklace: uo
Sorry we've been M.I.A. lately. And not like the singer.
We figured the eight whole minutes of us in the last post was enough to hold you over.
Anyways, these pics were taken yesterday before church. As you can see, we're both kind of wearing the same shirt. If you didn't know, we're a little bit obsessed with jean shirts. And we don't think we're the only ones.

So here's our challenge to you. We want to see how YOU style your jean or chambray shirt.
1. Do it. (Or show us an old post, if you have one)
2. Post it.
3. Add the button.

Awkward Girls

4. Link it up. We'll pick our favorites and post them next week!

Answering Your Questions- Part I

Well... we did it.
You asked us questions, we answered them.
And while doing so, we realized that we talk way too much so we broke it up into two parts. Breaking Dawn/Deathly Hollows style. We'll post the second one next week.
And although this might be a little more successful than our last vlog attempt, we've realized we are still incapable of being normal human beings...

ENJOY!

side note: one of the search keywords we got this week was "naked girls in awkward places"
First of all, ew.
Second of all, we feel bad for  whoever that was because...well, he's gonna find this video instead.

We Likey Wednesday

Girl Crush: Leighton Meester
So maybe we've been watching a lot of Gossip Girl, Season 1 episodes lately. Maybe we haven't.
But mostly we have. And we've realized how much of our style has been influenced by Blair Waldorf. She took preppy chic to a whole new level. And we salute her for it.

Boy Crush(es): The men of Midwestyle
Men's fashion blogs definitely don't receive as much attention as they deserve.
But Midwestyle is porn for anyone that loves a well-dressed man.

Flava of the Week: Demae Sushi
We're poor college students who enjoy delicious sushi.
Usually this is one of life's most common juxtapositions.
However, with half off roll nights Tuesdays and Thursdays, Demae fixes that problem for us.
We recommend the Philadelphia and the Vegas roll!

We Want: Backpacks

Backpacks are cool,
When you go to school,
Over these backpacks we drool,
And the ones we have are crap.

Tunes: The Blow
This song is so catchy. And we've all been there before.

Funnies: "Look at this Car!"
Just look at it, okay?

Attention Provo Bloggers!

So you know how we said there was a big announcement...

Yep. That's right. We want to meet you.
Hang out with you. Find out everything about you...
Okay, this is getting creepy.

But in all seriousness, we've come to realize that so many of us in this blogosphere go to BYU, and we all know we've had those moments where we pass by each other on campus, or around town and think, "I totally read their blog..."
So when Elisabeth from La Vita E Bella and Brooke from Silver Lining contacted us about cohosting a BYU blogger meet-up... you know we were all for it
(Plus, we missed the big Utah Blogger Meet-up last year and we're really bitter).
We've already made some great friends through blogging, so why not transfer the blog world into the real world through a night full of fun conversation, fabulous food, and new friends!

March 8th is still a pretty far ways away, but if you'd like to come, email Elisabeth at
emearnshaw@gmail.com
or let us know in a comment!
We're still working out some itty bitty details so we're just trying to get a general headcount right now.

And just FYI, we know we're calling it a BYU blogger meet-up, but it's definitely not limited to BYU students! Anyone with a blog that lives around Provo, or just wants to make the drive up here can come. The more the merrier!

We have some awesome things planned for the meet-up so we hope to see you there.
If you want to help us make it even more awesome, grab a button and help us spread the word!

BYU Blogger Meetup

(All buttons link back to Elisabeth's blog. She's the brains behind the operation)

It's gonna be gooooood. And be sure to check back for more details to come.
Can't WAIT!

Misikko Product Review

red top: lolabella boutique (slc), stripe top: nordstrom, jeans: levi's, boots: uo, watch: seiko (vintage)

bow top: hm, sweater: thrifted, jeans: ross, boots: borne via nordstrom, watch: relic
A couple weeks ago, Misikko.com, a website that specializes in hair dryers, CHI flat irons, and curling irons, contacted us to do a product review for them. Usually we're pretty skeptical about these things. Especially when a stranger emails us asking us for our address so he can send us an expensive hair dryer.
But after a little research, we agreed. And got sent this sweet baby in the mail:
That's right. The HANAair Professional Hair Dryer, which is one of Misikko's best hair dryers. And that's not all. They filled the box up with lots of swaaaaaag.
And we like swag.
But just because they buttered us up with all this free stuff, doesn't mean we still weren't skeptical.
So we actually tried the hair dryer.
And we were blown away (pun definitely intended).
We both have really thick hair, and with our old hair dryers, we usually only have time to dry our hair to "dry enough". With the HANA, we can dry our hair in about 7 minutes. And it's not just dry enough.. it's actually dry. And that's a big deal for us. We can actually take showers in the morning now and have time to do our hair!

However, we have never been the type to spend a lot of money on beauty products, so we would say the only con is the price. This thing is kind of pricey, but we will assure you, if you want a hair dryer that works REALLY well, it is worth the investment. You definitely can't find this quality at Walmart or Target.

Oh, the other con? Deciding who get's to keep it when we can't live together anymore.
But we try not to think about it...

So here's a huge thanks to Misikko for the best blow dryer ever! Go check it out right now!

We Likey Wednesday

Happy Wednesday, everyone!
Today we're featured over at Ask the Duplex. We're in need of your styling help, so go check it out!

Girl Crush: Kristin Wiig
Kristin Wiig is the hot girl that's actually funny.
And she's Junice
saw a dead cat on the side of the road and i took it home and put some honey on it and i cooked it and I ate it... is that bad? dodododoo

Boy Crush: Aziz Ansari
We love, love, LOVE Tom Haverford from Parks and Recreation.
Look at that face. How could you not love it?

Flava of the week: Homemade Marshmallows
Okay, so maybe we've never actually made these, or even tasted them. But it seems like they've been popping up everywhere. And they just look like they would taste like heaven.
We found this recipe over at Food Coma... mmmmmm.

We Want: Iphone Covers

So for Christmas, we finally came into the 21st century and got the new iphones. Madison bought a case right away, while Lauren is still looking. These cases from Society6 are so cute, but there's so many to choose from! Maybe you guys should check out the website and tell us your fave?

Tunes: The Format, "On Your Porch (Acoustic)"
So we know this song is old.
But still so good.
It makes us cry every time.
And it's been stuck in our heads all week.
Enjoy.

Funnies: Reality Hits You Hard, Bro
If only there were more people like this.

MLK Day

top: f21, sweater: gap, pant: jcrew, shoes: soda via journeys, watch: vintage
top: anthro, coat: gift, jeans: ross, boots: borne via nordstrom, glasses: modo
Whoowee. What a day!
On our lovely MLK holiday, we decided to head over to Park City and do a little outlet shopping.
necklace or tiara? you decide.
However the day quickly made a turn for the better when Madison got the news that her sister had a baby!
Welcome to the world Baby Greyson!

So to celebrate Madison's newfound Aunthood (we celebrate everything, ok?), we headed on over to Texas Roadhouse. Where the rolls are a celebration in and of themselves.
sweet buttery goodness.
And then Chelsea was in a food coma.
she's going to kill us for this
And that was our day. Huzzah!

PS. We were a part of Brittany's Monday Mention feature over at the Daily Bruski today!

PPS. Don't forget to send in your question for the vlog Q&A extravaganza!

top: gap, sweater: delias, jeans: f21, boots/beanie: anthro, scarf: thrifted
(We like to call this one "The Rockabilly and the French Art Student")

Hello lovelies! We have an exciting proposition for you all today.
We've picked up a few new followers in the past couple of days, and we're always getting asked questions through emails, comments, etc. We do our best, but we're not awesome at answering them. So we had this crazy idea.

Remember that time we tried to vlog? Well that didn't work out so well. But if at first you don't succeed, dust yourself off and try again. We were thinking you guys could ask us any question your little heart desires, and we'll try to answer them via vlog. It can be about anything; Blogging, fashion, our lives, your lives, kitties, reeses pieces, gucci, Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakuel... you know, ANYTHING!

Leave your question in a comment,
or send us an email at awkwardgirls2@gmail.com,
or tweet us @awkgirls!
This is gonna be goooooood.

We Likey Wednesday

Girl Crush: Emma Watson
We tried to resist the urge to use Emma Watson as our Girl Crush for a long time, since everyone and their mothers love her. But we just couldn't help it. She's probably the classiest actress under 25. And one of our favorite style icons. We tip our hats to you, Emma.

Boy Crush: John Krasinski
We lost a significant amount of interest in the Office when Michael Scott left. But as long as John Krasinski is there, we're still watching it. Can we just pretend Jim's real?

Flava of the Week: Pantrucas Chilean Restaurant

Pantrucas is a locally owned Chilean restaurant in Provo. If you live here, you must go. And when you do, can you take us with? The owners are so sweet, the food is amazing, and the fresh squeezed juices will make your taste buds weep with joy.

We Want: Alexa Chung for Vero Moda
We want everything Alexa Chung wears. Ever.

Tunes: Neon Indian, "Polish Girl"
If you're needing a funky, upbeat, winter pick-me-up... here you go.

Funnies: "Sh** Girls Say"
We're sure everyone's already seen this.
But really.
We think we can think of a time we've said every single thing she (he?) says.
