You know it's New Years Eve around here because we're sitting on the couch, in the dark, watching netflix, and still trying to decide what we're going to do tonight. It's our first New Years Eve together (and possibly the last... because we're going to kill each other. Just kidding), and we're hoping to do it real big and real right.
We had a great 2012, and hopefully 2013 will be even better!
top: f21, sweater: old navy (mens), jeans: levi's, boots: lucky brand, necklace: plunder design, bracelet: friendship bracelets by design
So, we don't know if you've noticed... but we're wearing friendship bracelets.
This has been a long time coming, and we are finally ready to make this kind of commitment.
Wearing friendship bracelets is like the ultimate form of friendship.
So much deeper than a toe ring, an "I'm with stupid" t-shirt, or even broken heart lockets; because it's what you see when your high five-ing each other, spanking each others butts, and other friend things.
We hope everyone had an amazing Christmas!
Now that NYE is coming, we thought we'd share our favorite We Likey's of the year...
It's like the Grammy's, but no one gets a little gold man, it's not televised, we don't get to dress up for it.
But in principle, it's like the same.
Girl Crush: Lana Del Rey
Our love for Lana started out as a summer fling, and turned into something beautiful.
blue jeans, drugs, big lips, floral crowns, being absolutely crazy...what's not to love?
Boy Crush: Rob Lowe
We really got into parks and rec this year...
and we quote (from ourselves),
"No other human being retains attractiveness quite like Rob Lowe.
The only way to explain this phenomena is to assume he's a vampire... which we're okay with. "
Hey guys! Well if you haven't noticed already. This is an official outfit post. Our first one in, what? Months? Well we apologize greatly for our blatant lack of fashion in this here "fashion" blog. It's hard to take pictures of outfits without a functioning camera. But all is right again (for as long as Madison's sister lets us use her camera, that is), and now we're talking glasses.
Amidst all the crazy hullabaloo of Christmas gift buying this year, make sure you take a little time to buy yourself a gift. And why not make that the gift of sight? Being as blind as we are, we've learned that you can never have too many pairs of eyeglasses.
GlassesUSA.com, which has been a long-time friend of ours, is your one stop shop for all your prescription glassesneeds! Earlier this year, we each got a pair, and have been loving them ever since. We just might need more. Luckily, GlassesUSA makes it easy to pick out glasses.
You just pick your favorite glasses frames, try them on in the virtual mirror, choose your lenses (standard lenses are free!), and order online. Oh and the website has tons of perks:
110% lowest price guarantee and a 100% satisfaction guarantee
A generous refer-a-friend program (You can get $30 for each first purchase a referred friend makes – and use the $30 towards your next pair of glasses)
We like Hailee Steinfeld for her bold fashion choices. Most recently, she wore this Mod-inspired jumper (we think she rocked it, by the way) to her 16th birthday party. Sixteen. When we were that age, we were just barely getting out of our skater shoes phase.
Boy Crush: Orlando Bloom
Yes, this one is a bit of a blast from our seventh grade past. But upon recently watching the Hobbit, we eagerly awaited a surprise cameo from Legolass that never came (yes, we understand that's chronologically impossible). And we were severely disappointed. That's the main reason we watched Lord of the Rings! So here's to you Orlando. In our hearts, and our middle school lockers forever.
If you're in Provo, and you're a-hankerin' for some Latino flavors (food, we mean), El Mexsal should be your number one go-to. It's Mexican and Salvadorian food. It's authentic. It's delicious. Make sure you try the papusas! They're like round, Salvadorian hot pockets. So good.
One of our favorite parts of the holiday season is the fact that it's another reason to dress up! We're loving metallic jacquard prints and sequins, and what better way to wear them than a fancy party dress?
Tunes: Alt-J, "Breezeblocks"
This song, you guys. It's been on repeat for the past couple of days. It's equal parts catchy and creepy. But wholly awesome.
Well, Madison never left, because she just couldn't get enough of it!
AND we are once again on the hunt for PR interns!
So, if you are into...
"Guest blogging, article writing, photo shoots, spreading the good Shabby Apple word through sophisticated public relations and working with amazing people!
Not
to mention a fabulous free dress when you're done and a killer letter
of recommendation. Some interns aren't satisfied with just making the
world better dressed and they get college credit for a business,
marketing, PR, fashion, or other internship."
For today's out + about, we decided to go with the sequin pants trend. Because who doesn't want to wear a disco ball on the lower half of their body?
For the going out look, we paired them pants with a classic, lacy peplum top and added a bold statement piece in the form of a cobalt blue clutch. For the everyday look, we liked the idea of mixing textures and prints. This kind of diffuses the boldness of the sequins to make it more casual.
So what do you think? Will you be pulling off sequin pants any time soon?
Hey guys! Since the Christmas Spirit is getting into full swing now, we wanted to share something super fun and holiday related! Brittany from No Two Fish are Alike and Claire from Belle and Whistle are fellow BYU students who just so happen to be part-time crafting geniuses and Etsy shop owners. This Friday, they will be combining their creative powers to bring you the best pop-up shop the world has ever seen! They're calling the "Renegade Brigade" but we think you might as well name it, "Hot, Artsy, Indie Girls Sell Cute Stuff Brigade". Check it out:
If you're in the Provo area, we would love to see you there! You can check out Brittany's Etsy shop {HERE} and Claire's shop {HERE}. They even dropped off some goodies for us to preview.
We've already clipped the bows onto everything we possibly could. We might need one in every color.
Oh, and by the way!Claire & Britt are offering an additional 15% off one item* to anyone who blogs about the event! All you have to do is write a blog post (include the above image, if you'd like, hosted HERE), make sure you include a link to either Claire's or Britt'spost, and then simply leave a comment on either Claire'sor Britt'spost telling them you did so! They'll gather the list of bloggers who helped spread the love, all you have to do is come to the party and claim your 15%!
*must be used on the night of the pop up shop, December 14th, 2012
It was so fun getting our hair and makeup did all fancy-like.
Not to mention getting to wear cozy jackets, fun tribal prints, pretty winter accessories!
Our two favorite things have collided to birth one of the best things you can imagine.
Target + expensive stuff we can only wish to buy = Nieman Marcus for Target
*cue the choir of high-pitched adolescent boys*
We love everything in the collection, but a few of our faves include some pretty feminine dresses , fun mismatched plates, quirky lunch boxes, hip cookie cutters, and posh leopard slippers.
We are seriously dying over the black cape and fur vest! They are just so classy, and you can never go wrong with black (we've been into black lately...which probably has something to do with our mk&a obsession mixed in with our love for the XX).
