Once upon a time, we both decided to take college sewing classes. We thought, "Hey! That seems fun and easy! And when we learn how to sew, we can become expert crafters and our lives will be so Pinterest!"
Turns out, sewing is actually kinda hard. A lot of blood, sweat, and tears go into making clothes. In fact, we think it's some sort of initiation that you have to have a complete mental/emotional breakdown at least once in sewing lab, or you're not doing it right. But then today we realized we were both wearing items of clothing we made in class and we were overcome with strange feelings of accomplishment. And even though nothing compares to the sheer joy that comes from shopping (we have problems, we know), being able to say you made something you're wearing is actually kind of... rewarding. And as an added bonus, we can make little sailor costumes for our future babies.
WIN.

I have been trying to convince myself to learn how to sew for years now!! But I quit as soon as someone tries to teach me how to operate the sewing machine. ahaha. I applaud you for making such great pieces, they look great!!

I definitely had one of those breakdowns in beginning sewing. My zipper was not working right and I was almost in tears by the time the TA just told me to go home and take a break. Haha oh man. I definitely prefer to sew outside of the classroom. :/ and cute pieces and outifts! love em!
ReplyDeleteyou guys made those bottoms?! Oh my gosh, as awkward as that question sounded, I'm going with it because they are just So. Freakin'. Adorable! You go, girls!
